Lasso Investor App

The Lasso App matches people with financial advisors through a dating-app-like experience for financial advice. Lasso provides a better, more modern way to find your perfect advisor match by letting people test drive what it would be like to work with an advisor before having to disclose all their personal financial information.

I served as the Product Lead for the Lasso Investor App. I was responsible for guiding product strategy and design, while also overseeing development and launch of the app.

One of the main challenges that we faced was to ensure that Lasso was engaging and simple enough for anyone to use. Money is complicated. We aimed to build an experience that created real value for users, helping them get the advice they needed, while not being overly invasive or overwhelming, as many finance experiences can be. We did rigorous user testing that resulted in many rounds of simplifying the user experience to deliver the most meaningful product.

In the end, we shipped an app that achieved nearly 20,000 downloads in the first 9 months and a 30% engagement funnel completion rate. Lasso not only proved to fill a gap in the marketplace but was engaging to users. Ultimately, we helped 2/3rds of the users who engaged with a financial advisor connect with a match and kickstart their journey to better financial health.
